We rode the daft and happy hills – original framed painting
An unusual title for me, but all the paintings in the ‘Patchwork Field Patterns’ collection refers to Dylan Thomas’s A Child’s Christmas in Wales… a story you can read all about here.
In the Olchon Valley, right on the border between Wales and England, you get these steep-sided hills; nonetheless farmers are undeterred in creating field boundaries high up. It makes for dramatic, distant views which I enjoy from the seat of my (electric, lol) bike. Biking is the best way to see the landscape in “slow time” if you ask me. (I think Dylan Thomas was referring to pony-riding, but… you know…)
As it is on a deep canvas - also known as cradled - you could hang it as is or you could request a grey-tinted wooden tray frame for an extra cost. This will take around 2 weeks to deliver.
