Inky beacons, wild evening sky
A Welsh Marches original landscape painting in ink and acrylic by Helen Arthur.
Who doesn’t love dramatic skies? As the sun sets behind the ridge that dominates the Olchon Valley the land darkens in shadow, but the sky above still glows and clouds are illuminated before sundown. This creates quite a striking atmosphere and scene in certain weathers.
This is one of a series of works made with traditional inks, bleach and acrylic inks. I work with large Japanese brushes and also a fan brush to get bold strokes that have a big visual impact.
on archival quality paper - note, the inks will change colour over time
bespoke British made frame - see final image
