Summer is blues and golds – print
From an edition limited to 50 prints in each size, available as 45 cm (14”) square in an acid-free good quality mount.
Fine art print on archival paper of a Welsh Marches landscape painting by Helen Arthur.
The title of this piece comes from an observation made by Vincent Van Gogh. And there’s something of his energy in the paint here. It seems I just couldn’t help myself!
This is a loose representation of a view near my studio in Longtown on the Welsh border. The painting in the original is deeply layered – I worked on top of an older piece and some of earlier colours enticingly peep through. The warm glow on the horizon could only be achieved with this layered approach and was almost accidental but makes the piece a little bit magical, don’t you think?

from a painting in oil and cold wax on a wooden panel
