All the moon long – print
Fine art print on archival paper of a Welsh Marches landscape painting by Helen Arthur.
From an edition limited to 50 prints. Mounted but not framed – 30 x 40cm (12 x 16”).
Have you ever seen the full moon early in the morning after sunrise? It’s unexpected and commands your attention. I love to see a moon in the daytime and so I thought it should feature in a painting.
I was drawn to Dylan Thomas’s descriptor “all the moon long” from his poem, Fern Hill (1945). It suggests how human life is cyclical and how we’re more governed by nature’s cycles than we realise. The moon here hangs overBlack Hill (Crib y Garth is the Welsh name) - this is the view you get if you stand on Hatterrall Ridge, which marks the Welsh border.
