Description
A framed original painting in acrylic, oil pastel and mixed media on wooden panel
The tray frame is finished in a soft mid grey to compliment the artwork.
Under Hatterrall Ridge, by Offa’s Dyke on the Welsh border, the scrubland turns marshy and sparse. This lone tree signifies an eerie beauty, a little melancholic perhaps, but also proud and dominant over the landscape.
Although I sketch outdoors and photograph constantly, a lot of these landscapes come from my imagination, shaped by my love of the Black Mountains.
I worked a layer of purple acrylic under greens and yellows to give the painting depth before adding oil pastel highlights.
